This renovation project modifed the interior, but left the existing elevator core in place.
This is a modern design where alignment of stone joints between walls and floors and doorways iis critical; the difficulty was locating the existing elevator core and its elevator doorways as they align (or didn’t align) to try to make the design pattern work. The lobby paving consists of 4,000 ft² of vein-cut Basaltina sandstone, with the vein parallel to the length, in pavers of 5’10” X 2’6”. The wall veneer consists of 3,400 ft² of Statuario Venato.
The central elevator core and west wall were fabricated from another block that provided the appearance of these central walls being of a mix of the two sidewalls. In addition to the lobby veneer and paving, the team furnished and installed the 920 ft² of core vanity tops in Luna Pearl granite and 500 ft² of exterior Absolute Black base.
