MIA Releases New Design Manual
CLEVELAND – The Marble Institute of America (MIA) is now accepting pre-publication orders for the newly revised and expanded Dimension Stone Design Manual, Version VI, which will ship next month.
Substantial discounts of up to 60% are being offered to MIA members, architects, and others who place their order for the comprehensive reference manual before publication:
The manual is cited as an authoritative technical resource in the natural stone industry, used by thousands of stone contractors, design professionals, and construction specifiers. The newest edition has over 350 pages and features five new chapters and extensive.
A team of more than 30 stone industry experts, including MIA Technical Director Vincent Migliore, and current and past MIA Presidents Rich Booms, Jeffrey Matthews, Bernie Polak, and Joe Kapcheck reviewed and updated the entire publication, which was originally published in 1971 and last updated in 1999.
In addition to technical data, installation guidelines, and maintenance recommendations for all types of stone, Version VI also features these new chapters: The Geology of Stone; Serpentine; Travertine; Restoration & Refinishing; and Standards and Specifications for Stone Products.
An appendix with reference charts, suggested warranty contracts and residential installation contracts, an expanded glossary of industry terms, and a comprehensive index for quick reference also have been added.
