New Brazilian Stone Consortium
The consortium of seven stone producers from Cachoeiro do Itapemirim, Brazil, has the advantage of consolidating more than 70 types of granites, between classic and exotic materials.
The consortium was created in 1999, based on an Italian model of enterprise created for the same industry. BCS is also supported by APEX, a branch of the Brazilian government in charge of increasing exports. Nathan Lopes da Silva is executive director of the group.
Considering that 90 percent of the whole combined production (one million m² of slab annually) is destined for the U.S. market, the group is in constant search for new partnerships, and is working closely with its clients in order to delivery excellent customer service and to supply unexpected demands.
Members of the consortium are:
• Angramar Granitos e Mármores (Efraim and Ed Martins André), extraction, sawing and polishing-
• Gransart (Antonio Sartorio), sawing and polishing;
